The ORV is an overpressure relief vent. It has been designed to open automatically at design pressure difference to give a free flow path from a pressurised space to a space of lower pressure, or to the open air. It has been developed to maintain the adjusted pressure difference between two rooms or between a room and the exterior. By doing so it can prevent contamination of the inside or exterior with chemical or biological polluted air.

Use cases of the ORV include maintenance of the pressure difference between a clean room and a soiled zone in laundry, pharmaceutical and electronic industries. It can also pressurise an evacuation in the event of a fire for maintenance of a smoke-free zone.

The ORV frame is manufactured from zinc-magnesium coated steel. The blades are manufactured of AIMg3. The number of blades used in the ORV will vary depending on height. It has an operating temperature of  -20 - 80°C. It is suitable for installation according to EN 12101-6.
