DVV-EXRoof Fans

Efficiency and safety in volatile environments

  • Hard Wearing Protection

  • Seawater Resistant

  • Explosion Proof

  • Galvanised Steel Frame

Efficient

The unit’s IE3 motor combines efficiency with reliability, allowing it to remain operational in the most demanding environments.

Robust

The unit is suitable for coastal installation, combining an aluminium seawater resistant casing, bird protection, and a hot-dip galvanised steel base frame.

Protection

The unit is explosion-proof and designed for the extraction of gases in explosive atmospheres. The unit’s fans are classified to category 2G and can handle temperature classes of T1 to T4.

Certification

  • Certified according to ATEX and UKEX

  • Certificate EPS 21 ATEX 2 152 X (up to Directive 2014/34/EU)

  • Certificate EPS 22 UKEX 2 337 X (up to UKSI 2016:1107)

The DVV-EX centrifugal roof fan series is designed for use in explosive atmospheres and to provide hard-wearing protection in hazardous environments. This includes locations exposed to air mixes of inflammable gases, steam, and other volatile elements.

The fan is suitable for exhaust use from zones 1 or 2 and is built around an energy-efficient IE3 standard motor housed in a flameproof enclosure. The unit uses backward-curved steel impeller blades protected by a seawater-resistant aluminium casing and a hot-dip galvanised steel frame. Key elements are proofed to survive in explosive and demanding environments, with the unit’s terminal box rendered fully explosion-proof and the fans are able to operate at environment temperature up to 55°C.

The line can be fully frequency controlled thanks to built-in thermistors and uses a copper inlet cone to protect against damage and wear and tear. The unit is also compatible with the Systemair accessory range including cowls, inflow boxes, emergency switches, and other options.

Construction

Roof fans DVV-EX are designed to exhaust potentially explosive atmospheres (mixtures of air and inflammables such as gases and steam) from explosion hazardous areas. The casing is manufactured from seawater-resistant aluminium and the base frame from hot dip galvanised steel, with a copper inlet cone.

Operation

Key elements are proofed to survive in explosive and demanding environments, with the unit’s terminal box rendered fully explosion-proof and the fans are able to operate at environment temperature up to 55°C.

Impeller

The DVV-EX fans have impellers with backward-curved blades and IEC motor in explosion protection "flameproof enclosure" - II 2G Ex db IIC T4 Gb.

Motor

The fan is suitable for exhaust use from zones 1 or 2 and is built around an IE3 energy-efficient motor, housed in a flameproof enclosure, speed-controllable via a frequency converter.

The fans are classified to category 2G, temperature classes T1 to T4. Terminal box in explosion protection "increased safety" - II 2G Ex eb IIC T6 Gb is mounted on the casing.

Sucking side connection according EUROVENT 1/2.

Motor protection

To enable the protection of the motor from overheating, DVV-EX fans have serial built-in thermistors (PTC) with external leads (connection to U-EK230E motor protection relay as accessory possible).

Control

The line can be fully frequency controlled thanks to built-in thermistors and uses a copper inlet cone to protect against damage and wear and tear.

Installation & Use

The DVV-EX fans are for outdoor installation.

The DVV-EX centrifugal roof fan series is designed for use in explosive atmospheres (exhaust from zones 1 or 2, field of application II, for gases of groups A, B as well as hydrogenium) and to provide hard-wearing protection in hazardous environments. This includes locations exposed to air mixes of inflammable gases, steam, and other volatile elements.
